17. Racing day 12.7.2008

In a pleasant summer weather, more than 2000 spectators have witnessed seven hurdle races, two races of ponies and a fabulous illustration of dressage racing from the members of the "Lewada" racing club from Poland. The racetrack was traditionally in a good state. The new feature for guests was prepared, in form of a 20 Kč free voucher for every racing programme.

The highlight of the racing day was, as every year, the "Prize of the Wrbna Racing Stable" – a steeplechase cross-country of 4600 m, where the young horses competed against the veteran, Hastaven (FR). The pace of this race has been dictated, for most of the time, by Láva from Rusín (Josef Bartoš) before the thirteen-year-old Hastaven lead by Jan Faltejsek. Although in the impressive finishing part, the younger horses have managed to get ahead. Five-year-old Brenet carried out a tight win with Dušan Andrés in the saddle, ahead of Genii with Bohuslav Mátl and Hastaven. Fourth place was acquired by Láva from Rusín and fifth with by Investor, finishing with a distance.

The second important race of the afternoon – the Prize of Registana – a steeplechase cross-country of 4100 m had a foreign participant on the start, which was the favourite Jesieny Krokus from Poland, with Rostislav Beneš in the saddle. This couple, however, could not resist the timed surge of Moravka with jockey Matl, and they were defeated by a neck. Dead or Alive with Dušan Andrés ended third.

The steeplechase for four-year-old horses – “The prize of Alžběta Hradilová” – has been won, with a better finish, by Darika, leading with Josef Bartoš, ahead of the long lead of Lucky Market with Pavel Složil. Haydée with Jaroslav Brečka took the third place.

The next races were to continue under direction of the resident stable. "The prize of company Agrotechnic Moravia" – the hurdle races for five-year-old horses of 3400m, has been won, after some struggle, by the debuting Kamienczyk (POL) with Jan Faltejsek in the saddle before San-Kairo (Stromský). Silver Orphan (Bartoš) took third place.

"Prize of the village Světlá Hora", the hurdle race for four-year-old horses of 3400m, has been confidently dominated by a resident, Ignacio (CZE), with Faltejsek in the saddle, before Szatyn (Andrés) and long leading Godeoa (Tůma).

In the finish of "Prize Fitmin" – steeplechase of 3400m - the resident horse Makalde (GER), with Jan Faltejsek in the saddle, cut out from the other horses and galloped towards a clear win. On the last fence she stumbled and fell (it was the only fall of the whole afternoon), and so unwillingly opened the way to victory for Dyktando with Marek Stromský, before Chrisad (Andrés) and Tarlow (Bartoš).

The final race in the hurdle race for three-year-old horses – "The prize of company Landbau" – has been going at the pace of resident horses, Ronino (POL) with Jaroslav Brečka and Fantastyka (POL) with Jan Faltejsek. At the finish of the race, Ksiaž Jape with Josef Bartoš, joined this couple. This trio then fought a stirring battle for victory. Finally the resident Ronino (POL) claimed this victory, ahead of Ksiaže Jape with Fantastyka (POL), third.

16. Racing day 7.7.2007

Světlá Hora 7.7.07 While the windy conditions and cloudy skies may have discouraged some potential spectators, attendance nevertheless approached three thousand. The cooler weather was ideal for horses and thanks to the rain over the past several weeks the track was in a perfect supple condition. The programme featured seven traditional steeplechase races, two pony races and a parade with our star horses Diktys (CZE) and Kolorado (POL). Masini (POL), who was in the Brno Veterinary Clinic following an operation, was missing from the show.

Baggio (POL) Světlá Hora 7.7.07 The top event was the traditional Wrbna Racing Stables Trophy – a cross-country steeplechase over 4 600 m. Albert’s white horse Amant Gris took the lead at the start and set a brisk pace. At the very end of the race he succumbed to a well-timed charge by half-blood Tomis from the Jantar Bruntál stables with Jaroslav Myška aboard. Wrbna’s Baggio (POL) took third carrying the heaviest handicap; Aton finished fourth and Ginsana fifth.

Tajnaron (POL) Světlá Hora 7.7.07 The second most important race of the afternoon – the Světlá Hora Trophy – a hurdle race over 3 400 m, had to be rerun at the end of the racing programme. The first attempt was stopped due the fall of a rider, who remained injured on the track. Wrbna’s Tajnaron (POL) with Jan Faltejsk aboard won the repeat race, thus successfully defending his hurdling career. The leader for much of the race, Esrisk, finished second; Liman came in third.

Hastaven (FR) Světlá Hora 7.7.07 The first race of the day - the Sven Car Trophy – a cross-country steeplechase over 4 100 m, was won easily by Wrbna’s veteran Hastaven (FR) with Jan Faltejsek aboard. Morávka and Valesa finished second and third respectively. Last year’s champion jockey Josef Bartoš unfortunately suffered a fall and injury in this race. Teviot with Bohuslav Mátel aboard won the Alžběta Hradilová Trophy, a steeplechase for four-year-olds over 3 500 m, finishing ahead of Láva z Rusína and Chanda. Wrbna’s Number One (POL) did not finish in the money in his steeplechase debut. The Agrotec Trophy – a hurdle race for five-year-olds and older over 3 400 m was won by Gernia with Bohuslav Mátel aboard. Night Express and Wrbna’s Nowy Corleone (POL) finished second and third respectively. The E.P.I Trophy – a steeplechase over 3 400 m – was won in typical fashion by another veteran, Everton with Jaroslav Myška aboard, over Minorita and Něžný Barbar. In the hurdle race for three-year-olds – the Landbau Trophy – Mike Grant with Dušan Andrés aboard beat Desterro and Veramente.

The finely prepared track seduced a number of jockeys into taking risks, which unfortunately resulted in a number of pointless falls and injuries, including a fatal injury to one horse.

15. Racing day 8.7.2006

Warm and sunny weather drew over three thousand spectators to the 15th racing day in Světlá Hora, where the programme featured 7 steeplechases, two pony races and the traditional parade of our most successful horses - Registana (GER), Masini (POL) and Kolorado (POL).

The top event was the traditional Wrbna Racing Stables Trophy - a cross-country steeplechase over 4 600 m. The Karlovice horse Bargiel took the lead at the start but one kilometre before the finish line Wrbna’s Sun Set (POL) ridden by Jan Faltejsk went ahead. He quickly built a lead and held it till the end in front of a charging Tanečnice. Sixteen finished third in front of Bargiel.

The second most important race of the afternoon – the Světlá Hora Trophy – a hurdle race over 3 400 m, was completely dominated by Polish stables, which were invited to our races for the first time and immediately arrived in large numbers. Juno Royal led by amateur Pavel Peprna beat Kalmar and Krogulec. The Polish representatives enjoyed their time here and promised to be back next year in even greater numbers.

The first race on the programme – the Sven Car Trophy – was won easily by Lakreg with Bohuslav Mátl aboard; Jack de Traou Land and Joshua finished second and third, respectively. The traditional Alžběta Hradilová Trophy was dominated by Atura with Radek Havelka aboard; Lakosta and Sajmon finished second and third. The Živa Trophy was won by Dyktando with jockey Marek Stromský over Jacuzzi and Wrbna’s Theoden (POL). The EPI Trophy was won with conviction by Kathalpo with jockey Josef Bartoš over the ageless duo of Everton and Folklór.

The final race, the Landbau Trophy, was marred by an unpleasant occurrence. The technical personnel began to prematurely remove the hurdle at the finish line; this hurdle is jumped twice during the course of the race. The workers noticed this mistake, but while being moved one part of the hurdle fell due to a construction error and the shortage of time did not permit the hurdle to be restored to its original condition. Because this narrowed hurdle did not fulfil the conditions of the race code (and two horses swerved and lost their riders) the racing commission annulled the race. One of the horses impacted by this error was our Kamienczyk (POL) with jockey Faltejsek.

Immediately after the racing day we completely reconstructed our light wooden hurdles to avoid a similar situation in the future. Racehorse owners received their registration and starting fees back and our company compensated riders in a similar manner.

The large field spread out during the course of the race and this mitigated problems. Nevertheless, not all of the horses demonstrated a sufficient level of jumping training and this, unfortunately, was the cause of a serious injury to one horse and three falls by riders. Fortunately, they avoided injury.

14. Racing day 2.7.2005

The traditional Wrbna Racing stable Prize in 4600m was the climax of the racing day. According to the well-proven formula, local Sadomis (POL) guided by Jan Faltejsek, became a leader. However, he didn't succeed in outrunning his rivals - he lost his strength in the final circle and was stopped. The victory route became therefore open to Váňa's ward Juventus (POL) with Josef Bartoš in saddle; the other places were taken by Tanečnice and Laneret.

Within the afternoon, "local" Jan Faltejsek earned two more victories: Sun Set (POL) lengthened his victorious series at the Alžběta Hradilová Prize, whitehorse Theoden (POL) turned his second life's start into victory at Landbau Company Prize.

Behiston with his trainer Pavel Složil in saddle won the opening race of the day - Sven Car Company Prize, the Agricultural Business Company Živa Prize was taken by Alma Ata with Jaroslav Myška, when Mangusta (POL) didn't succeed in the race. In the EPI Company Prize race won, after some struggle, Holčák's Rector with Radek Havelka in saddle, leaving Folklór with Josef Bartoš behind.

It's definitely worth mentioning that during the racing day, no horse or rider fell. The traditional part of the program was defile of the biggest stars of our stable - Registana (GER), a double winner of the Velká pardubická, Masini (POL), a group winner from Italy, and his younger follower Kolorado (POL).

13. Racing day 10.7.2004

The biggest attraction of the day was the start of Hastaven (FR) in the main race - Wrbna Racing Stable Prize in 4600m. Hastaven (FR) with Jan Faltejsek in saddle became a leader right after start and didn't let any other horse outrun of him, similarly to Red Dancer (FR) last year. He was the first one to reach the destination in advance of 4 lengths ahead of Cipís and Degro-Hill.

Jan Faltejsek conducted also the second winning horse of Wrbna Racing stable Kolorado (POL), which gained victory over wicker hurdles in Tomík's Prize. Third was Kolorado's stable colleague Treviso (POL) with Dušan Andrés in saddle.

Our stable along with Jan Faltejsek lacked just a little bit of luck to achieve a hattrick at Světlá Hora racing-course - in the Světlá Hora Community Prize he ended together with Charon (POL) after a tough struggle for the second place behind Kathalp. In the same race, debuting Chrisanta (CZE) ended fourth as a third one of the first category Three-years-old Mares Prize.

During the day, our stable's greatest stars also introduced themselves to the audience - Registana (GER), winner of the last year's Velka pardubicka and a horse of the year 2003, Masini (POL), this year's winner of the highest European category race in Milan, and Tankred (POL), possessor of the Slovak Triple Crown 2003.

12. Racing day 12.7.2003

After a pitchy beginning of the racing day, when the local stable encountered great misfortune, finally gained three victories over strong competition.

Dar Serca (POL) stumbled over a starting wicker hurdle during a fight for the victory and fell down, Bolszewik (POL) forgot himself at the start and lost countless lengths, Sotnia (POL) was about to reach certain victory when she unimaginably didn't make the last hurdle, Kolorado (POL) recalled a shortcut he knew from the training and yawed the course.

Duce (POL) Světlá Hora 12.7.03 Then, a lucky coin turned over, Duce (POL) surprisingly beat down Balamut, Red Dancer (FR) didn't let anyone approach him and Belfast (POL) his top position that much that he remained there.

Dušan Andrés had a superb day of gaining 4 more victories.

In the Wrbna stable star defile, our other champions introduced themselves to the audience - Registana (GER), Oxalana (GER), Masini (POL) and Tankred (POL).

Weather mild, crowds of viewers, all horses and riders returned home healthy. What to say in the end? All's well that ends well...

11. Racing day 13.7.2002

During rainy weather, an 11th racing day arranged by Wrbna Stable and under auspices of Světlá Hora community took place in Světlá Hora.

In this day's main race, second category Wrbna Stable Prize, seven-year-old whitehorse Kedon with Josef Váňa in saddle won (after a struggle with Nostalgia) a steeplechase for 100.000 CZK in 4600m. Rider Dušan Andrés was doing very well in Světlá Hora - he succeeded in winning three races.

Jubil (POL) was the most succesful out of five starting horses of the home stable Wrbna - he won the E.P.I. Company Prize in 3400m. In the same race, Kolczak (POL) ended fourth and remaining representatives of our stable were doing just fine as well - Masini (POL) placed third in Ford Maly a Velky Prize, and Big Six (IRE) ended fifth in Wrbna Stable Prize. Only Nemorino (POL) was unlucky when he fell down during Alžběta Hradilová Prize and didn't end the race.

A sad part of the meeting was the injury of five-year-old Lucky Daye, which had to be destroyed after breaking a leg in the second race.
