This small black horse hasn't won once in five starts at the age of two. He first won at the beginning of the following season. In the next eight starts, he mainly acted as a leader for his stable colleagues and he managed to place only in some cases when he ran "for himself". He placed second twice and fourth once. He was bought for Wrbna Racing at the end of 2004.
As a four-year-old in 2005, he proved that he's the blood son of his father and has great jumping skills. He won four times in a row in steeplechase and then he came third in Premio Piero e Franco Richardo (Gr.3), the biggest race for young horses in Merano. His eighth place in Corsa siepi dei 4 anni (Gr.3), the last start of the season, indicated that rather difficult steeplechase than siepi will be his domain.
The season 2006 started with very hard race in Milano, Gran Steeplechase di Milano, where he finished with luck 4th. Next start was at home race Cena stáje Wrbna Racing and he won. Following two starts in Merano he finished 2nd at Premio Belfe and 4th at Premio Val Pusteria. The season he finished in Pardubice 2nd at Cena Vltavy. Unfortunately he injured himself and he will be for the longer time in convalescence.
Sun Set began the 2006 season with an extremely difficult start in the Gran Steeplechase di Milano (Gr. 1), where he was fortunate to finish fourth. His next start on the home track in the Wrbna Racing Stables Trophy was victorious. In his next two starts in Merano he took second in the Premio Belfe and fourth in the Premio Val Pusteria. He finished his season in Pardubice with a second place finish in the Vltava Trophy (NL). He unfortunately suffered an injury, which led to moving this promising horse into an equestrian sport.
He showed his undisputed jumping talent at the end of 2007 in the Mini-Maxi jumping competition on home ground.
