This halfbred athlete was bought in France when he was five years old, together with Red Dancer (FR), at the end of 2000. He was already well-experienced in hurdle racing in Pau and Auteil.
He gradually started to do well, he was fifth in Zlatý pohár Paramo (L), second in Velká karlovarská, Velká mostecká and in Cena Paramo (L). He finished the season with a victory in Most.
At the age of 7, in 2000, the first half of the season went very well again. He defeated Diatelot (POL) in Italy Prize but was deprived of the victory due to a step into sand. Then he placed second in Velká cena Pardubických novin and in Zlatý pohár Paramo (L). At the end of the season, he placed fifth in Velká mostecká and after another race he had to interrupt his career for long 12 months due to an injury.
He could have been seen as an eight-year-old only once in 2003 when trying (and winning) a new event - steeplechase cross-country.
The year 2004 was marked with preparations for the upcoming start in Velká pardubická. He created a pair with Jan Faltejsek and their career started to rise. They won subsequently in a IV., III., II. and a I. category race. The last-mentioned race was Velká cena Pardubického kraje - an August VP qualification. The results weren't annuled even after abolishing the weight relief for foreign half-bred horses.
"The French Tractor" started Velká pardubická st.ch.c.c. (L) as a serious top placement candidate and he cleared Big Taxis perfectly but in the last third of the race, his health state betrayed him and he had to be stopped. At the end of the year, he underwent a surgery and a few-months-long physiotherapy.
In 2005 he hasn't appeared for the qualification for Velká pardubická until September but then he won. In this race he belonged to the favourites but unfortunately he lost his rider after Taxis.
He appeared just two times on the track in 2006. At qualification in August he defeated his stable colleague Registana (GER) and this result him included between the favorites for Velká Pardubická. But neither for third goes he didn’t finished Velká pardubická, when he uselessly lost his rider on tenth jump. He placed the top at handicap chart hurdle horses, but brilliant success at the Czech hurdle race him still escaping.
The year 2007 was marked by extremely dry weather and hard tracks. Hastaven therefore began his season as a twelve-year-old in July on the home track, where he won going away. In August he finished fifth at qualifications for the Grand Pardubice, but did not start the big race due to an injured rear leg.
