Bad luck accompanies Hastaven (FR) to the Grand Pardubice. Hastaven (FR) has started three times in the most difficult steeplechase of the year, the Grand Pardubice, and though he has managed to clear the most demanding obstacle, the Great Taxis Ditch, each time, he has never reached the finish line. In his first start in the Grand Pardubice he was pulled up in the final third of the race after suffering an injury; last year he lost his rider before the Irish Pew, and this year his jockey again fell off during the race. Hastaven (FR) entered the race as the winner of one of the qualification events, beating stable mate and two-time Grand Pardubice winner Registana (GER). After Registana (GER) and Red Dancer (FR) were forced out due to injuries, Hastaven (FR) was the lone representative of our stables. He held the lead from the start, clearing Taxis Ditch without any troubles. But after the ride through the forest he lost his rider in one of the jumps, ending all hopes. After the fall of another favourite, Maskula, the race was won by Decent Fellow with Josf Bartoš aboard. We had mixed success in the other races on the programme. Sun Set (POL) finished second in the Vltava Trophy, a cross-country steeplechase over 4 500 m. In the Chládek and Tiňtěra of Pardubice Trophy – the Golden Belt for three-year-olds Seven Rings (CZE), an offspring of Magnus (POL) and Sesi (CZE), finished third in front of stable mate De Dur (POL). Treviso (POL) suffered an injury and did not finish his first race.
Unbelievable! After a fantastic performance in a richly endowed Gran Premio Merano Forst, Kolorado was disqualified. Kolorado (POL) answered unambiguously to a question whether he could imitate Masini's last year's victory. He was a leader during the whole race and in the last kilometre it was almost for sure that this race will solely be a contest between him and the French favorite Domirome. After that, Kolorado (POL) managed to cope with the French in the final fight and won in a three lengths advance. And then we experienced a shock when the two best were disqualified because they entered the final phase of the racing-course running on the shorter track of the racing-course. Therefore, Rosenbrief, that was supposed to place third, became a winner. This event overshadowed the fact that our Sun Set (POL) came eighth in the following hurdle race of Gd3 category. And so the biggest success of the past evening was Treviso's third place in Friday's Premio Pardubice.
Two out of three Czech victories in Merano, Italy, fell to our colors. Registana (GER) won the best endowed Saturday race, Premio U.N.P.C.P.S, a 3800m steeplechase. Sun Set (POL) added a second victory of our stable in his Italian first appearance in Premio Val Venosta, a 3650m steeplechase. Finally, Treviso (POL) came second in Premio Zivago on Sunday.
Arganta (GER) confirmed her excellent performance from Bratislava and won also Jarní cena klisen, the first classical race of the season, with Dušan Andrés in saddle. Fatra Line came second. Thereby Arganta (GER) became the first classical winner of our stable in the Czech Republic. German Valentine's Dream, a foreign champion, only placed third. Chrisanta (CZE) came in the sixth place to receive the owner's bonus. We weren't doing that well in the opening races in Pardubice on Friday and Saturday. Treviso (POL), a fence newbie, placed third in Cena společnosti COLOR CAR, s.r.o. and Samira (POL) placed fourth in Cena Stavebnin Štěpánek. Our next two representatives, Rammstein (IRE) and Hastaven (FR), didn't finish their races.
