This big brown horse is a son of a champion-stallion Dashing Blade (GB) and a mare Peace Time (GER), who won three times on the track, placed in a Listed race and got 83,5 kg GAG. Pate's blood sister is Peaceful Love (GER) who won a race with status Gr.3 and Listed in 2005.

His two-year path started in Italy by 6th place at important race Criterium di Merano. The second time he started at Velká cena BBAG Baden-Baden, the richest race for two-year old horses in Slovakia and he unexpectedly won.

His career as a three-year-old was also accompanied by the bad luck of 2007. After a second place finish in the Prof. V. Michal Memorial he injured himself in the starting gate for the Grand Spring Trophy (L) and finished the race in fifth place. As a result of the stress he came down with inflammation of the intestines and underwent an operation. He returned to the track with a flat race win in September and then suffered an injury in his steeplechase debut, ending his racing career.
