The bony dark horse is offspring of well-tried Jape (USA) and young mare Klara (POL) after Who Knows (IRE). The horse comes from proof family and his future is going to be at hurdles.

After unexpectedly strong development as a two-year-old Klaus appeared ready for racing. He debuted with a victory in Prague, which earned him a start in the Winter Favourite Trophy (NL) with a million crown purse. But just prior to the start of this race he was stepped on by another horse and did not start. His next start in Pardubice produced a disappointing fourth place finish. In the Bratislava Revenge Trophy, the final race of the season, he suffered from the slow tempo and finished second.
