This stately but only May-born brown horse is a son of a champion-stallion Dashing Blade (GB) and a mare Moon Affair, who placed in German Listed, was brought up at a German stable called Etzean.
His first appearance on the track was in August, at the age of two, when he placed third in Velká cena BBAG Baden-Baden, and in his second start he won.
He moved his entry to the three-year-old season on the score of cracked hoof and it wasn’t without problems. Unexpectedly appeared box aversion which depreciated his first start at Červnový pohár when he ran out with hook on his head. At corrective race in Bratislava’s Derby Trial he was 2nd, but it was already decided about his change to fences. Not even this change was so easy; however he managed to win on hurdles in Bratislava.
Moon Blade made three starts in 2007 in Merano, winning one and finishing in the money in the other two. His promising racing career ended with a serious injury. He was sold at the end of the year.
