This athletic dark brown horse, son of a German champion-stallion Acatenango and a group winner Kabuki, was bought in an auction-sale in Baden-Baden in the autumn of 2002.
As his mother's first offspring, he was somewhat smaller and it seemed as if also precocious. He proved not to be in his first two starts at the age of two and therefore he was given more time. In the autumn, he finally met expectations by placing third in Karpatská cena (L) and winning the Cena společnosti CKP Chrudim in Pardubice.
He entered the season of 2004 greatly by winning Cena trojročných žrebcov which was a preparation for the Slovak Velká jarní cena at the same time. However, he couldn't start in this race due to an ailment and there had to be chosen a compensatory start in Vederemo Rennen in Ebreichsdorf, Austria. He didn't succeed in this race with a specific track and his fifth place was a disappointment. Moreover, his current handicap rating didn't guarantee his attendance in České derby. That's why he had to accomplish a compulsory training by winning the Cena společnosti Eurokoberce two weeks before the season's climax.
He finally showed his skills in Czech Derby (Gr.3). In this fast race he was always among the first, became a leader on the flat and in the end only the great Darsalam (IRE) outrun him. He came second and outsmarted the rest of the horses persuasively.
His next start was the Slovak Derby (Gr.3), where he had the role of a favourite. Unfortunately we will never know how he would compete with his rivals. During the race he was injured by another horse, suffered a left hind-limb bone fracture and had to be stopped. Despite the great job of the physicians in a clinic in Brno, complications occured and King Marc had to be destroyed.
